4th December Advent Devotion – Why should we listen to Jesus?
Hello,
We live in a world bombarded by voices telling us who we are and how we should live. Discovering our identity and purpose can be difficult, yet as Christians we come to Jesus. He shows us who we truly are as He created us to be. His truth defines us, sustains us and gives us significance to live fully. Today we can take a new step into our God given identity and let go of lies we have believed.
The writer to the Hebrews presents Jesus to us through these words. (Hebrews 1:1-4)
“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.”
In these last days, God has spoken to us by His Son.
Why should we listen to Jesus?
- He has been appointed by Father God as heir of all things, given authority over all things.
- He is the one through whom Our Father created the whole universe!
- He is the radiance of the Father’s Glory and calls men, women and children to draw near.
- He radiates Father’s Glory because He is one with the Father.
- He sustains all things by His powerful word. What God starts, God sustains.
This is our Coming King! He sustains all things!
This word came to my heart with deep conviction.
Do I really live believing Jesus sustains all things? My life?
Jesus, do I trust you to be sustenance?
Where do you need to know, He sustains you today?
This beautiful song speaks of who Jesus is. We join to worship him as Creator. He is our sustenance and with Him we are met by love.
Take 5 minutes to simply sit and receive the sustenance you need today.
