Hello,
today we explore hope in confusion and brokenness.  The image is a painting I did as my meditation on Isaiah 35, hope for restoration, crocus bursting into bloom, deserts bursting forth with life from safety in Father’s hands.  Meditating on scripture creatively allows us to journey with Jesus as living word to a deeper heart understanding.  This meditation carried me through a difficult time and helped me discover the safety Father offers.

Jeremiah 33:14-16 introduces us to such hope.
The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will fulfill the good promise I made to the people of Israel and Judah. In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line; he will do what is just and right in the land. In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Saviour.’
“Look! The days are coming when I will fulfil the promise I made”   Written to encourage a people devastated by war,  this is just as relevant today for nations like Yemen and Sudan.  Jeremiah compares them to a forest that has been cut down, leaving no safety, no resources.  And to those people, God promises that out of that barren land, a tiny shoot, a small sign of life will appear on a lifeless stump.  “I will raise up a just shoot, He shall do what is right and just in the land.”
To them and to those suffering across the world today this promise of justice and safety seems almost impossible yet he speaks about such a hope
God’s promise of safety, security and love is for each of us too.
Do I really believe in my heart that God is here in my everyday life with me helping me to be safe and secure?
Jesus talks many times about the anxieties of daily life.
Take time today to give any anxieties you have to Him.
Join with me in lifting up the people of Yemen. Pray this scripture over them.
What our Father really wants is for us to know how very deeply each one of us is loved and cherished by him.  Relying on His love to meet my needs releases my control of my life and allows me to let go of things that don’t really matter.
This song by Housefires worships God for who he is in times of confusion and brokenness.  It speaks of the river of God and the light of HIs love for us.  It declares we will never run dry.
