9th December Advent Devotion – A Heart that sees Jesus
Hello,
I don’t know about you, but I never tire of seeing the sun rise and set. Every time, the unique beauty catches me in a fresh way. For me the sunrise says, there is a new day, new hope, new mercy. Its also a statement about darkness submitting to light, a promise of ‘seeing’. God has so much to say to us about spiritual sight. Paul writing to the Ephesians calls it ‘seeing with the eyes of our heart’ I love the way he says it, I think its my favourite prayer in the bible. I ask God to open the eyes of my heart daily, to know him and his ways, to see as he sees, and he has faithfully answered that prayer more times than I can count opening up himself to me, truth to me, releasing faith. I’m so thankful.

Jesus Heals the Blind
After Jesus left the girl’s home, two blind men followed along behind him, shouting, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” They went right into the house where he was staying, and Jesus asked them, “Do you believe I can make you see?” “Yes, Lord,” they told him, “we do.” Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.” Then their eyes were opened, and they could see!
One day as Jesus passed by, two blind men followed him, crying out, “Son of David, have pity on us!.” Their heart cry was a powerful confession. Jesus we know who you are! Promised Messiah! The one who has come to save, heal, deliver and redeem us! Wow! Jesus replies, “Do you believe that I can do this?”
Physically blind, yet through the eyes of the heart they saw Jesus and believed.“Yes, Lord,” Then he touched their eyes and said “Let it be done for you according to your faith.”And their eyes were opened.
Do you long for a heart like the blind men?
A heart that sees. A heart that responds to Jesus with “Yes Lord?”
As we prepare our hearts to encounter Jesus afresh this advent season, join with me today in the prayer of Ephesians 1.
Father of Glory, give us minds ready to receive wisdom and revelation so we will truly know you. Open the eyes of our hearts and let the light of your truth flood in.
Today, God longs to meet us and transform our hearts.
Is there an area where you long to see?
or where you feel blind?
Ask Father God what He want to say to you about it.
Listen to Him.
See Your Face by Housefires is really a prayer crying out to God, we can join them and do the same.
