Our gracious compassionate Father
Hello,
For me the greatest privilege of knowing God is that He entrusts me – and you – to carry His heart! Its also a profound journey of encounter and transformation as I experience Him, his compassion and kindness and surrender myself that he might mould me in His Image! I’m deeply humbled to be loved, chosen and given such trust.

The Lord speaks to us through Isaiah 30:18:
“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him!”
Blessed are all who wait for the Lord.
As I read Isaiah’s words, I wonder what the people of Jerusalem must have felt about his writings.
What would it feel like to hear that someone was coming that would give you all your basic needs – comfort, food, water and direction?
What is that anticipation like?
They must’ve asked questions such as “When will this person come?
Who is He/she?
…or maybe they no longer dared to hope such good news could be real.
Feed The Hungry demonstrates a loving compassionate Father God by meeting such basic needs. Paul (my husband) serves with them in partnership with others to bring food, dig wells that provides daily water, medical supplies or clothing and shoes. All these gifts literally save lives.
As I write this medical supplies and winter clothing are arriving in Syria; food and clothing are being given to refugees in Greece by partner churches; the warehouse is filling up with toys, shoes and clothing as well as furniture to equip schools in Haiti; 250,000 meals are being gathered for Zimbabwe ready to leave in January and almost 300,000 meals have just reached Africa on its way to the largest slum in Kenya – Kibera where through partnership with the church 1500 children are fed and educated, saving lives and breaking the cycle of deprivation and hopelessness there. In January a Feed The Hungry team will visit with some of the partners who helped to raise the food. It is powerful and moving to see firsthand what many here in the UK have made possible. This food will enable children to have a hot meal every day for 4 months.

The joy! Thankfulness! breaks through despair and renews hope.
Pray for those today who in desperate situations wait for such a hope.
I praise you Lord because you are a good good Father whose compassion never fails.
The Housefires sing of our good good Father. We worship Him with them today.
