5.55am.  Waking, I heard the rain hitting the window, my first thought on my decision to start back swimming today after weeks off with the flu virus and Christmas celebrations.  I reached for my phone and daily audio bible and saw a video of our grandson Peter 21 months,  in Australia, always exciting.

So precious and a wonderful way to allow God to lay His sovereign foundations.

Colossians 2:6 Now that you have welcomed the Anointed One, Jesus the Lord, into your lives, continue to journey with Him and allow Him to shape your lives. Let your roots grow down deeply in Him, and let Him build you up on a firm foundation. Be strong in the faith, just as you were taught, and always spill over with thankfulness.

It was still pouring with rain as I left to walk to the pool.  As I walked I poured out my thankfulness to God.  The dark wet morning that had almost kept me home now invigorated.  In the stillness I captured the beauty of these moments as the path led me through the dark trees.

Strengthened I swam and as the laps accumulated my thoughts centred on God’s heart for the people, situations and teaching preparation for my upcoming trip to Kibera Slum in Kenya.  Creativity flowed and I arrived home inspired for all that is today.

What are you thankful for today?

Take a moment to welcome Jesus as Lord and allow Him to shape your life and all that you carry in your heart today.
