Spiritual Accompaniment

My experience of Spiritual Accompaniment

April 2014 - Uta and I sat together in her terraced garden.  It was a beautiful spring day  and we were celebrating my 50th birthday.  I first met Peter & Uta in 1995, teaching at a workshop on healing and wholeness.  Heart questions stirred within me and I asked Uta if she would walk with me in my journey, meeting each month.  Over the next 20 years her contribution formed Christ in me like no other.  Her love and wisdom, example and boundaries, her way of listening to God, her questions, creativity and holding me enabled me to discover and receive Christ’s transforming love.  Eternally thankful for this privilege and gift, as Uta accompanied me, I have become who I am today, courageous, hope-filled, creative, joyful, able to discern and live freely and fully.

As I walk with individuals in Spiritual Accompaniment, whose desire is to live authentic lives to their true self. My belief and focus is to enable and empower each one to find that place of deepest connection with our Heavenly Father whose name is Love.

What happens during 1:1 space?

My role is to listen, to help you discern and respond to what your heart is saying.  I welcome you to my home, and facilitate several hours to pause and reflect.  Taking a walk, sharing a meal, space to creatively reflect, and time to respond to the treasure you discover are aspects of this experience.  It is tailor-made time for you and the particular needs and issues you want to explore.  I will encourage and support you, as God’s grace empowers you to stand, and enter his pathways, opened to you.  The reward of this costly courageous commitment is to live fully aware, with freedom, joy and purpose.

Karen is an invaluable, insight-filled navigation aid, gently guiding my personal growth adventure.

Spending time with Karen, has taught me to have a much closer walk with Jesus, redeeming God’s gifts within me, I thought, I’d lost forever in my early twenties. Now in my seventies, I’m privileged to serve him in Mission trips to Africa.

Karen has held me through some of my darkest times in recent years. Her support has helped me to express myself, connect deeply with God’s word, and encounter God as Father in ways I have not experienced before.
